This weeks Q & A with Dr. Darrell, we look at two physical ways to improve emotional health?

With health, wealth and happiness it always seems to be the little things we do consistently that make the biggest difference.  Changing routines can be challenging but that’s what we do here at Summerside Chiropractic!  Look around the office for healthful tips, check out our website and the blogs for helping your health.  If you have specific questions do not hesitate to ask me during regular visits.

When you google emotional health it seems that most of the focus online is on medication, meditation, yoga etc.  This week we look at physical ways you can improve emotional health.  Improving your sleep will help you start the next day feeling great!  Research shows that a consistent bed time, elimination of screen use an hour before bed, a dark room, and no food for the three hours before bed are the top ways to improve sleep performance.   The other physical way to help sleep and emotional health is Exercise!  Exercise burns off the stress hormone cortisol and bumps up the happy hormones like endorphins. Both of these effects will positively impact your sleep.  Remember from previous blog posts that the optimum number is 4-6 times per week of exercise.  The benefits of exercise are many and those benefits DOUBLE when you go from 3/week to 4/week!

Exercise and a good sleep.  SO very important to your emotional health!

Yours in Health, Dr D
